Another season of mediocrity soon to be behind them, the inquest into the failures riddling Leeds United will begin as soon as the final whistle is blown upon their campaign.

The year began so brightly, with the appointment of promising young Dane Thomas Christiansen resulting in an influx of exciting talent from across the contient, yet like so many of the Whites' recent managerial appointments, failure was never to be far around the corner.

Stripped of his title after Christmas, Barnsley's Paul Heckingbottom was drafted in to alter the club's fortunes and steer them back towards a play-off spot which was still very much in reach, yet disaster has predictably struck again.

It's clear that management is not the issue at the club given Hecky's failings since taking the job and these issues will certainly be on the mind of the manager in the next few weeks...

Leeds have the option to purchase double figure goal scorer Pierre-Michel Lasogga at the end of the season, but the German will represent a noticeable financial outlay for a second tier side.

On a sizeable contract at parent club Hamburg, Lasogga is unlikely to accept a huge drop in salary despite appearing to enjoy his time in the English game and has proven that he is worthy of a decent pay packet with a series of solid performances following his arrival.

However, he arrived under former management and Hecky may have other ideas on who he would like to lead the line.

Lasogga will undoubtedly improve in his second year in England but it is a big risk financially to take a punt on the man who only missed out on a German cap due to injury.

The Polish international will most likely head to the World Cup in the summer with thoughts of glory on his mind, but Hecky will be left to ponder whether to afford the midfielder a future at Elland Road.

Arriving from FC Twente in the summer, Klich has proven to be one of the most consistent performers in the Eredivisie as proven by his regular call-ups to the Polish side, yet Christiansen just couldn't bring himself to afford the player an opportunity to shine.

Klich remains a quality player at the peak of his career and Hecky must decide whether he fits into his plans.

The player's agent will be actively looking for a new home for his client, so Hecky must make a quick decision as to whether he wants him or not.

Academy graduate Bailey Peacock-Farrell appears to have usurped summer arrival Felix Wiedwald for the number one jersey and Hecky must decide whether he wants to keep the German shot stopper at the club beyond the end of the season.

Having been left out in favour of the 21-year-old will cause the player serious embarrassment and he will certainly be considering his future at the club in the coming weeks.

If Hecky persists with Peacock-Farrell in the final games it provides a clear suggestion that Wiedwald is not a part of his plans for next season.

Restore him however and it will most likely be enough to keep the German at the club for another season.

Leeds fans, should Lasogga, Klich and Wiedwald stay?
