What a season it has been for Chris Wilder and Sheffield United, who have confirmed their place in the Premier League for the 2019/20 season.

The Blades entered the season as one of the tips for the top six after a great first season back in the Championship, but no one really expected them to have the bottle for automatic promotion.

In fact, even when they were challenging Leeds and Norwich, a lot of neutral fans questioned whether they were able to carry on at that pace.

Wilder proved everyone wrong though, again, and produced one of the memorable moments of Sheffield United’s history.

Here, we present you with three of their most unforgettable moments from the 2018/19 season, whether memorable for a good or bad reason.

Winning at Elland Road

This was the moment that Blades fans really started to believe they were able to achieve automatic promotion, as they got a huge win at Elland Road.

Chris Basham’s strike was the difference between the two sides, and United fans travelled home in a euphoric mood, as they moved above Leeds in the table.

Promotion party

In truth, this was not a singular event, more so a full week of celebrations, as Blades players and fans celebrated together as their promotion was confirmed.

The parties will continue long through the summer, with a bus parade set to take place next week.

4-1 win v Aston Villa

Blades played Villa off the park in what proved to be a huge reason in Steve Bruce’s sacking, as his team were humiliated by Sheffield United.

Goals from O’Connell, Duffy, Norwood and Sharp saw United go into a 4-0 win before the hour mark, with El Ghazi pulling a goal back for the visitors.

It was a huge statement of intent for Sheffield United, and also a harsh reflection of Villa’s progress.
