Barnsley have had an excellent season where they confirmed promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

Daniel Stendel came in and has overseen a great campaign, where the Tykes have fought off challenges from heavily tipped Sunderland and Portsmouth.

The South Yorkshire club weren’t fancied by many, with other competitors fancied more, but Stendel’s system and style has ensured they have been hard to beat - they have managed an undefeated home campaign for example, as well as barely losing to any of the teams around them in the table.

It has been a season that will live long in the memory of Barnsley supporters, for many reasons.

Here, we present you with three of their most unforgettable moments from the 2018/19 season.

Undefeated at home

For the first time since the 1960’s, Barnsley have achieved an undefeated home season, which is astonishing in a league where supposedly anyone can beat anyone.

This has been the foundation for Stendel’s successes, as the Tykes romped home to promotion.

Four in a row to steer clear of challengers

After the loss to Burton, Barnsley won four in a row to steer clear of the challengers Portsmouth and Sunderland.

The Tykes showed the steel in the final weeks of the season, when many thought they were going to be caught.

Promotion celebrations

This moment may have not ended yet, but the celebrations of promotion will live long in the memory.

A beam back was arranged for the final home game, and an open top bus parade is set to be announced too.
