Tomorrow evening, Cardiff City travel to Brentford with both sides currently in a good run of form as they try and push for a spot in the Championship play-off places.

Harris has got the players performing well after taking over at the club last month, as his three wins and one draw from his opening four games has helped the Bluebirds to turn their season around and make a surprise push for the top six.

A trip to Brentford always provides a stern test no matter who the opposition are, and here are three tweaks that Harris should be considering ahead of the tie...

Who takes Bacuna's spot

Leandro Bacuna has been a consistent performer in central midfield for Cardiff so far this season, but WalesOnline is reporting that he is a doubt for the trip to Brentford after limping off during their win over Barnsley at the weekend.

Summer signing from Rotherham, Will Vaulks, would be the obvious candidate to take the former Aston Villa man's spot alongside Marlon Pack, however Callum Paterson could be brought in to fill the void.

25-year-old Paterson is versatile, who has been deployed as a right-back, attacking midfielder and striker in the past, with a role in the centre of midfield being a role that he could well fill if needed.

Choosing to be more direct

In his first four games as Bluebirds manager so far, Harris has opted for his team to keep the ball on the floor and play it around before getting it into a goalscoring position.

Harris may choose to go back to the way that the Cardiff players knew under Warnock, and play a direct style of football that will leave the forwards having to battle physically with the Brentford defence.

The Bluebirds have the players up front that can compete in the air with the likes of Pontus Jansson, and Harris may decide that a direct approach is the best way of winning the game.

Dropping Madine

Gary Madine has been given a lifeline to save his Cardiff career by Harris having started under the new Bluebirds gaffer, but the 42-year-old Harris may opt for Danny Ward up front instead.

Ward netted off the bench in the 3-2 win over Barnsley on Saturday, and Harris may decide that the striker's impact on the game off the subs bench may be better utilised if he was handed a starting berth as the lone striker.
