Ipswich Town have enjoyed a strong start to life in League One as they seek to bounce straight back to the Championship.

Paul Lambert's side currently sit second in the table, one point ahead of third and they have a game in hand on the side directly below in the league.

Yet, an alarming run of form, including four games without a win, has left some fans worrying that the team won't be able to sustain this in the coming months, particularly as money is not going to be available to the boss when the window opens.

Having said that, there is a lot of quality and experience within the squad and they will feel that they can rediscover their best form soon enough.

Here we look at THREE trends we've seen emerge at Ipswich so far this season...

Struggles at Portman Road

Despite their lofty position in the table, Ipswich's home form hasn't been very good. In fact, it's the 16th best in the league in terms of points return, with the Tractor Boys collecting 13 from nine games.

Even though they have been good on their travels, the reality is that they will need to address this worrying trend if they are to win promotion.

They are not reliant on one goalscorer

A real positive of the Suffolk outfit is the way they have managed to share their goals around this season.

James Norwood arrived with a big reputation and was expected to be the main man going forward and whilst he is the top scorer on eight, Kayden Jackson has seven in the league as well.

Plus, the likes of Luke Garbutt, Kane Vincent-Young, Gwion Edwards and Jon Nolan have all chipped in at important times.

A fighting spirit

The loss against Bristol Rovers last time out was tough to take for Ipswich but the reality is that it's just the third time they've lost in the league this season.

Only the leaders have lost fewer games and it shows there is a real fighting spirit among the group and a mental toughness which bodes well moving forward.
