It is no secret that Leeds United are struggling in the Sky Bet Championship, with Thomas Christiansen now under huge pressure at Elland Road, with his side suffering seven defeats in their last nine league fixtures.

Leeds have slipped from a strong position to 10th in little over a month, with genuine fears at Elland Road that Christiansen and his playing squad are not capable of mounting the push for promotion that so many were expecting after a fantastic start.

Last year, Leeds mounted a challenge, with like likes of Rob Green, Kyle Bartley and Chris Wood key members of Garry Monk’s squad. However, the trio are no longer at Elland Road, and whilst Christiansen has talent within his squad, he is lacking some real Championship experience.

Leeds will be expected to be active over the January transfer window, and with that in mind, we take a look at THREE transfers the Whites can’t afford to miss out on…

Aden Flint

Flint’s future at Bristol City was speculated over the summer, but by September he was still at Ashton Gate, where he is continuing to excel under Lee Johnson.

It is not clear if Flint could be on the move in January, but if he is, Leeds must be amongst those looking to sign him.

Bartley has been sorely missed at Elland Road this year, and Flint, 28, could be the ideal replacement for the towering defender.

David Stockdale

Stockdale was rumoured to be heading to Elland Road over the summer, but instead moved to Birmingham City, where he is currently on the sidelines due to injury.

Birmingham might not be willing to let 32-year-old leave so soon after his arrival, but it would be definitely worth Leeds asking about the experienced goalkeeper.

Leeds’ goalkeeping problems this season have been well documented after Green’s departure, and the arrival of Stockdale could solve them all.

Leeds need to ask the question.

Danny Ings

Reports suggest Leeds want him, and if he is available on-loan and willing to drop into the Championship, they have to get him.

Ings is an exceptional striker that would be a regular in the Premier League if it wasn’t for injuries.

He would be perfect for Leeds, arriving with a point to prove and plenty of experience in English football.

The 25-year-old could be just what Leeds need.
