Slipping to ten points behind the play-off positions, Bristol City's charge for promotion has been halted by their form of just one victory in their past nine Championship games.

Despite that, a rejuvenation in form could see the club rise up the standings once more.

The next six weeks are crucial for Bristol, as they'll need to ensure they don't fall further behind in their final two matches of 2016, where the Robins face Wolves and Ipswich Town, before strengthening their squad in the mid-season window.

Their large deficit from the top-six means that Bristol City cannot afford to rest on their laurels next month, and the Robins need to move swiftly in the transfer market to get the players they need, as they face more crucial matches next month.

The end of January will give a clearer picture of what Bristol City can achieve this season and they'll want to ensure they're still fighting at the point where the window slams shut - and these THREE January additions can certainly aid their push.

Omar Bogle

The 24-year-old Grimsby Town striker is one of the finest young talents currently within the lower-tier of English football and Bristol City should definitely throw their name in the ring for his signature in the January transfer window.

Netting 16 goals this season, Bogle would help Bristol City in their charge this season but, crucially, would also present a platform for the club to build upon if the Robins are unsuccessful with their bid for promotion this season.

Zach Clough

Another young striking option for Bristol City to consider is a man they've reported been eyeing from League One, Bolton's 21-year-old Zach Clough- who has scored seven goals and registered two assists in his 22 appearances this term.

Clough would perhaps be a bit short of being the leading man for the Robins but if he were to arrive alongside Bogle, Bristol would possess two of the finest young strikers in the Championship within their ranks.

Like Bogle, Clough also presents a platform for the side to build upon in the future.

Rob Holding

A different option entirely from the two players we've mentioned, but again a young talent, moving to secure Arsenal centre-back Rob Holding on-loan would be a wise move.

Whilst the 21-year-old has made seven senior appearances this term, that's likely to decrease in the second-half of the campaign as Per Mertesacker is set to return and Gabriel Paulista has enjoyed a rise into the first-team.

Regular football will aid Holding's development and there has been reports to suggest Arsenal are looking to send the youngster on-loan for the second-half of the campaign, which could definitely work in Bristol City's favour.
