Optimism has returned to Hillsborough this season, given there tremendous form this season and they currently sit inside the play-offs and are eyeing up for a push towards the automatic places.

There takeover by Thai businessman Chansiri has propelled the club from mid-table mediocrity to genuine promotion challengers, and there brand of exciting attacking football filled with flair and panache has won a lot of neutrals over to there cause too.

They have dominated the Player of the Month award with Fernando Forestieri scooping it and proving a hit since his summer move from Watford.

Gary Hooper has been an excellent signing for them too and was purchased from Norwich in the winter, and has so far scored several key goals for the club.

Also new boy Barry Bannan has been sensational since his arrival adding potent attacking threat to the midfield and also does a job in front of the defence.

Attackers Marco Matias have been stifled by injury and Ross Wallace made a solid start to the season.

However, their defence has not been as good as it was last season but keeper Westwood has been as solid as ever - if there is a place to strengthen in the emergency loan window then defence may be the place to do it.

Here are THREE players Sheffield Wednesday could sign from Tottenham in the emergency loan window.......

Harry Winks

Harry Winks

The young midfielder has made quite the impression at Spurs at youth level and has also represented England at youth level.

The midfielder can play as a central midfielder or as a more attacking winger which tends to be his best position.

Tottenham love to develop there young English players and Pochettino did give him a bit of game time in their Europa League game against Qarabag, and he may be ready for some first team football in the Championship.

Whilst he would struggle to break into the midfield at Wednesday, he would be an excellent back up option.

Cameron Carter Vickers

Cameron Carter-Vickers

The young American defender has represented the USA youth teams well beyond his years, and the 18-year-old is one of the best young defenders Spurs have.

He made his first match day appearance for Tottenham this season and put in a solid performance against a talented Monaco side.

Wednesday have heaps of attacking talent but there defence is not as solid as last season, mainly due to injury and the youngster could be just what they need.

Joshua Onomah

Josh Onomah0

Perhaps the most talented youngster available in this window is midfielder Josh Onomah.

Pochetino has given him a push this season and has a few Europa League appearances under his belt, along with some league appearances from the bench.

With Tottenham going for the title, it is unlikely Onomah will feature in the first team for the rest of the season, so he may seek some first team football in the Championship, and play-off pushing Wednesday may be the perfect destination.
