Queens Park Rangers are 9th in the Championship with just a point separating them from the top-six, and their fans are optimistic of breaching the play-offs come May.

A 4-2 win at home to Blackburn Rovers last weekend prevented QPR from heading into the international break on the back of three straight Championship defeats, but Mark Warburton will still have plenty to work on during the two-week lay-off.

His side is yet to keep a clean sheet this season - QPR and Luton Town are the only two teams in the Championship not to. Aside from some dodgy defensive displays, QPR have established themselves as one of the best-attacking sides in the league under Warburton, and are capable of great things this season.

Here we take a look at three things we've learned about the West Londoners this year so far...

Strong travellers

Ask any QPR fan and they’ll tell you that their club were the worst travellers in the league. But this season is a different story - QPR have picked up nine points on the road this season with wins at Stoke City, Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall.

Aside from a 3-0 defeat at Cardiff City in their last away trip, one of the factors behind QPR’s strong start to the season is their form on the road. We’ve learned that QPR are not afraid to go to places and play the game their way - they had 72% possession against Cardiff.

Weak against top six

QPR have faced three of the current top six this season and lost all three. In the same week as beating Bristol City in the Carabao Cup, QPR lost 2-0 away at them the weekend after, before losing 3-1 at home to Swansea a few days later. West Brom have also come to Loftus Road and left with all three points.

If QPR want to be in the top six by the end of the season, they’ll have to beat the teams in the top six. They’ve given the top teams too much respect this season, and not had the confidence to take the game to the likes of Bristol, Swansea and West Brom.

Entertainers

Warburton-ball has swept through West London and QPR are one of the more entertaining teams to watch this season. Their attack is one of the most prolific in the league - Nahki Wells and Jordan Hugill have 12 between them so far.

They've also got some really exciting players in Ebere Eze, Ilias Chair and Bright Osayi-Samuel, who's goal against Blackburn last weekend showed how fluid QPR have become, after finishing off some steady build-up play from his teammates.

It's not something that QPR fans have been accustomed to in recent seasons, but QPR's fresh new flow is worth a watch.
