On Saturday afternoon, Leeds United picked up their fifth win in six games in all competitions, with a 2-1 victory over Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.
It leaves them 11th, only behind the Tykes on goal difference, and both sit 4 points away from the play-off positions.
Here are three things we learnt from the Whites' Yorkshire derby win....
1) Leeds can mount a play-off challenge this season
The form of Leeds has been a massive reason for optimism for all their fans, and indeed Garry Monk, over the last month or so, and having rid themselves of their sluggish start, there will be belief that they can sustain this.
Monk has vast experience from his time in the Premier League with Swansea, and this may prove useful as they look to continue their charge up the table.
2) Barnsley need to start picking up points
Whilst their impressive start to the season has been far more than any Barnsley fan could have hoped for, and they still sit in a very good position, they need to arrest their current slide quickly.
Paul Heckingbottom will want his players to pick up on what is now a run of no win in 4 games.
Avoiding relegation is the aim undoubtedly set by all around the club, but if, and only if, they end this poor run of form sharpish.
3) Monk and his players manage to put off field issues to the side
When has there not been any controversy off the pitch at Leeds under the ownership of Massimo Cellino?
This time it is the Daily Telegraph's allegations of corruption against him, in part of the scandal that has rocked English football over the last week.
However, even with all this going on, Monk and his charges have managed to maintain this good form and this is a very creditable achievement, they have all focused on what matters.
