Leeds United got to see their new manager in action for the first time as he took part in a press conference yesterday afternoon.

The Whites had long been in negotiations with Marcelo Bielsa before getting their man earlier this month and, for Whites fans, the dream truly became a reality yesterday.

There can be little doubt that a lot of hard work lies ahead but, at the same time, the men from Elland Road are now eyeing promotion for this season coming, and the Argentine will know that.

During his press conference, he spoke at length about his aims for the club, his reputation and his awareness of the Whites' history in what was a perhaps unsurprisingly impressive display.

There was plenty to take away from it, then, and so here are just three of the key lessons we learned from what he had to say...

When Bielsa was asked about the style of football he wanted to bring to Elland Road, he was pretty clear with his ideas.

He's renowned for his attacking, pressing style of football and, evidently, he wants to bring that style to West Yorkshire.

As quoted by Tom Maguire on Twitter, the Argentine underlined that it's play beautiful football at all costs this season:

Victor Orta is going to provide the names of players he thinks the club should sign but Bielsa gets the final say.

Orta's player recruitment has been sketchy but he's redeemed himself a fair bit in his role in bringing in the club's new manager.

TC and Hecky had it levelled at them that they were yes-men to Orta's ideas - Bielsa won't be like that.

What everyone wanted to know most of all, though, was what Bielsa has in mind in terms of this summer's transfer window.

He said that he wants to bring in some quality additions in certain areas but, perhaps most significantly, 15 players are in the firing line.

Who they are remains to be seen, of course, and it could just be that those that fail to impress in training in the coming weeks are culled, rather than those he had ideas about before arriving.
