West Brom kept their automatic promotion chances alive last night, as they ran out narrow 3-2 winners of QPR at Loftus Road.

The Baggies took the lead on the night through Deadline Day signing, Jefferson Montero, but his early goal was cancelled out by Luke Freeman.

Jacob Murphy restored their lead on the hour mark, but they were pegged back again as Tomer Hemed converted a penalty.

It looked like the game was heading for a draw, but Jake Livermore struck a crucial blow late on to give Darren Moore’s side an all-important three points.

The result sees the Baggies move to within three points of Norwich, who currently occupy top spot in the Championship.

They will be hoping they can keep this good run of form up, as they target an immediate return to the Premier League, following relegation last season.

But what have we learnt about West Brom following this crucial win?

Find out below….

The new signings are settling in well

The likes of Jefferson Montero and Jacob Murphy are certainly adjusting to life with West Brom well.

The pair were on target in the win on Tuesday evening and will be hoping they can play their part in the Baggies’ promotion bid this season.

Darren Moore has a welcome selection headache

It’s easy to forget that West Brom were missing some key players during this win.

The likes of Hal Robson-Kanu and Dwight Gayle were both out of the game, and when you’ve got players like Matt Phillips having to make do with a place on the substitutes bench, it speaks volumes.

The depth in this West Brom squad is up there with the best in the Championship.

The Baggies are building some momentum

The win means that West Brom are now unbeaten in their last four league games which will make impressive reading.

They’re building some momentum at the perfect time, and this good run of form could see them win promotion back to the top flight at the first time of asking.
