Reading's dismal start to the season continued as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Queens Park Rangers. Toni Leistner scored the only goal of the game, after some poor defensive work from the Royals.

The defeat means that Reading now sit 20th in the table, only three points above the relegation places, but a more alarming statistic is their home form this season.

In previous years, Reading's home form has been the strong point each season, but this season the Royals have suffered five defeats in their last six home matches which is a concerning stat for Clement and the Reading fans.

Chances were minimal for Clement's side during the game, but Yakou Meite struck the woodwork in the second half after good work from Mo Barrow.

That was the only real chance for Reading during a game where they looked poor and lacked creativity from the first whistle.

Here's three things we learnt about Reading last night....

The Reading boss has come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks after Reading's poor start to the season.

There have been a number of under-performing players amongst the Reading squad, but Clement's team selection remains questionable with the likes of Sone Aluko and Chris Gunter continuing to feature despite poor performances.

The lack of youth in the Reading squad is there for all to see with Liam Kelly being the only academy graduate to feature on the night.

There have been calls for England Under 19's international's Danny Loader to lead the line for the Royals but Clement seems reluctant to use the youngster.

The fight for the number 1 shirt at Reading has been a somewhat easy decision for Clement with Vito Mannone occupying the starting spot in goal for the first half of the season.

Summer signing Sam Walker has replaced him in recent games due to injury and after a string of impressive performances, Mannone has a fight on his hands to return to the squad after returning from injury.
