Luton Town played out a 0-0 draw against Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon, their second stalemate in as many matches.

It was a largely uneventful affair in front of goal for both teams, despite the Latics dominating the majority of the game in Lancashire.

The result keeps Luton in the bottom three, as the Hatters sit in 23rd place, six points adrift of safety. However, Graeme Jones's side have now lost just once in their last six games.

Here, we look at three things that we learnt about Luton from the weekend...

Another clean sheet

This was no doubt the biggest positive of the afternoon for Graeme Jones, as his side kept their third clean sheet in six games.

Simon Sluga's performance in goal played a substantial part towards that, with his save in added time from Michael Jacobs proving to be crucial.

According to WhoScored, the Croatian stopper won three aerial duels, made two saves and claimed the ball five times during the course of the game.

As well as Sluga's impressive performance, the back four as a whole also showed what they are capable of, with Cameron Carter-Vickers stepping up once again in central defence.

Good work off the ball

In his post-match press conference, Graeme Jones claimed that his side's work off the ball impressed him the most, as Luton limited Wigan with their press.

The Latics had a total of twelve shots, but only two of them were on target, and that in part was down to Luton forcing Wigan to shoot from range as they cut off the space near the 18-yard-box.

Despite the attacking intent that Luton have shown so far this term, what the performance against Wigan showed was that the Hatters can sit behind the ball and limit the opposition as well.

Poor in final third

One thing that was not so impressive about Luton Town on Saturday was their lack of attacking intent, as the side managed just three shots during the game.

Neither Harry Cornick or James Collins made a signifcant impression, with the former being substituted after 81 minutes for Kazenga LuaLua.
