We are starting to see Leeds United put together a strong run of results in the Sky Bet Championship, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side in the thick of the division’s promotion race.

Leeds have won four consecutive fixtures, putting together their best run of the season so far heading into the festive period.

The latest victory came against Queens Park Rangers, with Leeds proving to be too strong for the R’s at Elland Road.

Bielsa’s side did trail to Nahki Wells’ strike, but Kemar Roofe scored twice, either side of half-time, to put Leeds back in control.

The Whites are maintaining their promotion push and are looking to pull clear of those also in with a shout of automatic promotion.

Following another encouraging Leeds performance, we take a look at THREE things we learnt about Bielsa’s side this weekend…

Kemar Roofe is playing the best football of his career this year.

He looks so confident and now has 10 goals to his name this season.

He should easily better his tally of 14 from last season, with 20+ goals surely his aim.

Yesterday was another clinical performance.

Jamie Shackleton was forced to step in at right-back yesterday and was superb.

He joined fellow academy graduates, Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Kalvin Phillips, in the starting XI, whilst Jack Clarke made another impact from the bench.

Injuries are a concern, but the maturity of these youngsters means results are still positive.

Adam Forshaw’s pre-season injury gave Mateusz Klich a chance, which he has more than taken this season.

However, Forshaw is now in the team and doesn’t look like budging.

Two of Forshaw, Klich or Samu Saiz will be selected alongside Kalvin Phillips in midfield when Bielsa’s squad is fully fit, and on current form, Forshaw is a guaranteed starter.

He was superb yesterday.
