Huddersfield Town teenager Matty Daly grabbed a 92nd-minute winner against Charlton Athletic last night, to help the Terriers end a five-game winless run.

Both sides are in the midst of injury crises, with many first-team players missing, and both have struggled in recent weeks–with Charlton now having lost seven of their last nine.

Huddersfield were in the ascendancy for the first hour or so but the introduction of Lyle Taylor helped the Addicks to get a foothold in the game.

After a period of prolonged pressure, Lee Bowyer's side had a goal controversially ruled out for offside in the 86th minute and the Terriers found a winner six minutes later, with Daly sweeping in Florent Hadergjonaj's cross in front of the away fans.

The result sees Huddersfield climb up to 19th and go four points clear of the relegation zone ahead of their trip to Wigan Athletic on the weekend.

Before the focus switches to that game, here are three things we learnt about Cowley's side last night...

Josh Koroma looks like he could be an important player moving forward.

Karlan Grant has had to carry the majority of Huddersfield's goal threat this season but in Koroma, it looks as if they have found another player that can be a weapon for them in the final third.

The 21-year-old made just his second Championship start against Charlton but was his side's brightest attacking spark for long periods of the game.

Koroma showed he has what it takes to cut it at this level and to be an important player for Huddersfield moving forward.

The future is bright.

With a number of key players missing due to injury, Cowley was forced to rely on some young players last night and they repaid his faith in them–proving the future at the club is bright.

20-year-old Rarmani Edmonds-Green started at right-back for the Terriers and put in an assured performance, while the 18-year-old Daly came off the bench and proved a matchwinner.

Cowley heaped praise on the academy staff after the game. It's going to be interesting to see if he continues to use the young players one their squad is back to full strength.

The Jon Gorenc Stankovic/Christopher Schindler partnership has legs.

Huddersfield's backline has been amongst the leakiest in the division this season, conceding 33 goals already.

Against Charlton, the Terriers' central defensive duo of Stankovic and Schindler contained the opposition threat and helped their side to control the game for long periods.

The way both players are both able and confident enough to bring the ball forward out from the back and launch attacks is a huge positive for Cowley's side.
