Blackpool kept up the pressure on the promotion-chasing pack in League One as they beat Peterborough United 4-3 at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.

Simon Grayson's side fell behind in this one with Mohamed Eisa opening the scoring after just 13 minutes, but the visitors' lead didn't last long.

An own goal from Peterborough's Niall Mason and Armand Gnanduillet gave the Tangerines the lead on the day, before Ivan Toney equalised on the stroke of half-time.

The second-half was just as frantic in terms of goals as it was the first, with Gnanduillet scoring his second of the game from the penalty spot.

Marcus Maddison responded for Posh though as he scored his ninth league goal of the season with 19 minutes remaining on the clock.

Dan Butler turned the ball into his own net just three minutes later though which saw Blackpool run out winners in this one, and edge closer to the play-off places which will be pleasing to see for Grayson and the club's supporters.

We look at THREE things we learnt about Blackpool after this win over Peterborough at the weekend.

Gnanduillet's goals will keep them in the hunt for promotion

Gnanduillet has been in impressive form so far for Simon Grayson's side, with the forward already having eight league goals to his name.

The forward has been their main threat going forward, and Grayson will be hoping that he can keep his talisman fit for the remainder of this year's campaign, otherwise their promotion bid could potentially be derailed.

It could potentially be a nervy transfer window in the New Year for Blackpool supporters if Gnanduillet keeps up this run of form, as other clubs won't have let his strong performances go unnoticed.

Blackpool rode their luck at times

The Tangerines weren't at their best in this game, and Simon Grayson will know that his side can play better than they did on the day.

Blackpool only had three shots on target in the game and didn't see as much of the ball compared to the visitors, which is something that Grayson will want to see changed in the coming weeks.

So, the statistics don't like when it comes to saying that Blackpool rode their luck at times, especially if you consider that two of their goals in this one came through Peterborough own goals.

They struggled to deal with the threat of Peterborough's front-three

Even though Blackpool ran out winners on the day, there is certainly room for improvement in defence if they're to challenge for promotion into the Championship this season.

Peterborough's attacking trio of Ivan Toney, Mo Eisa and Marcus Maddison were all on target for the visitors on the day which will be frustrating for Grayson, as Blackpool would have done their homework on Peterborough's main attacking threats heading into this one.

They need to be more resilient in defence heading into their next game, as a promotion contender won't want to be conceding three goals at home, regardless of the situation.
