Blackburn Rovers left it late to snatch an unlikely point against lowly Rotherham United at Ewood Park last weekend.

Bradley Dack scored late on to restore parity for Tony Mowbray’s side who looked like they were heading for their first defeat in four matches against the Millers.

But the mercurial attacker showed his worth once more when he popped up ten minutes from time to equalise.

It was far from a vintage Rovers performance who have adapted well since their promotion from League One last year.

There’s now a two-week break for Rovers to mull over the draw and a somewhat below-par performance and Mowbray will undoubtedly have learnt a lot about his side from the draw and look to rectify what he felt went wrong in the coming fortnight.

With that said, here are three things we learnt about Blackburn after they rescued a point against Rotherham.

Where would Blackburn Rovers be without Bradley Dack? He is simply their talisman - he was able to find the goal to grab the home side a late point at the weekend.

The attacker has been in mercurial form for Tony Mowbray’s side in the last two years, and he continues to show them his importance after - despite playing his best - was able to be the main influence for Blackburn once more.

Jack Rodwell is showing himself to be a really solid defender.

Usually a midfielder, the former Sunderland man is proving himself a versatile acquisition for the Championship side, and he could be one of the best value for money signings of the season should he continue to do so.

Blackburn are a typical Championship side and find it difficult to break the so-called lesser teams down.

Rovers get dragged down to the opponents’ level, and when they come up against an away side who put ten men behind the ball, they find it hard, even with the attacking prowess of Bradley Dack, to break them down and get a goal that will be all the difference.

Tony Mowbray’s style of play allows them to be better when under pressure rather than have the impetus and onus on them to go out and attack teams.
