An incredible final 20 minutes saw Queens Park Rangers record a 3-0 victory over MK Dons at Loftus Road.

Karl Robinson's MK Dons suffered an eighth defeat of the season at QPR

Goals from Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Matt Phillips and Junior Hoilett secured the points for Chris Ramsey's side, to lift them to within five points of the top six.

Defeat for Karl Robinson's Dons, their eighth of the season, leaves them hovering just a point above the bottom three.

Here are three things we learned from the contest:

1) Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is doing a good job of replacing Charlie Austin

Charlie Austin's quality in the final third is undeniable, and fans were worried about QPR's goal scoring ability when he was ruled out for some time with a hamstring injury during the 4-0 defeat to Fulham.

However, Emmanuel-Thomas has stepped up and has provided Ramsey's men with the goals to replace the highly sought-after Austin.

In his eight appearances for the R's, he has scored five goals, including three league goals, and his overall attacking play has been impressive for QPR.

His performances and goals mean that Austin hasn't been missed as much as first expected.

2) Very worrying times for MK Dons

When MK Dons beat Blackburn Rovers 3-0 last weekend, Robinson would have been hoping that his side could go on a run as his men look to maintain their Championship status.

However, the Dons have now lost two games in a row, and have also gone without a goal in those two outings.

Simon Church had a good opportunity to open the scoring for the struggling side, but he didn't take his chance, and QPR went on to win comfortably.

Robinson's side are still struggling to adapt to the Championship and their young players look slightly out of their depth at times.

Something will have to improve if they are to avoid dropping back down to League One.

3) Neil Warnock seems to be making a difference

When former QPR manager Neil Warnock joined Ramsey's coaching staff in an advisory role, many saw it as the beginning of the end of his time in charge at Loftus Road.

However, Warnock seems to have made an immediate impact on the squad as they collected a good point against high-flying Sheffield Wednesday in midweek before this weekend's convincing victory.

Warnock has been in the game for some time and his experience as a manager in getting promotion to the Premier League could be integral if QPR are to succeed this time round.
