QPR thought they secured the points, ten minutes from time as Sebastian Polter scored his first goal of the season. However their opener was cancelled out six minutes later from a spectacular Nahki Wells free kick to share the points.

Huddersfield were the better side throughout as QPR lacked any presence up front due to the continuous injury of star striker Charlie Austin.

The best chance of the first half came from Huddersfield’s Nahki Wells whose header from Carayol’s cross was saved by Rob Green.

Rangers had a great chance to break the deadlock just before the hour mark. Paul Konchesky's cross from the left ran to Phillips, who was denied at point-blank range by Murphy's save, and Karl Henry's attempt to head in the loose ball was blocked by Mark Hudson.

QPR are now five games without a win, but rise to 13th place in the Championship. Huddersfield are still looking over their shoulder in 18th place and are only four points away from the bottom three.

Football League World Writer, Ashley Williams looks at THREE things learned from the game:

1) QPR’s lack of forward impact

The London club have really struggled for goals without Charlie Austin this season and if he had left in the summer, you wonder how much of an impact that would have taken on their season.

The England forward has been extremely injury prone this season and the club are without a recognised striker.

The club have looked poor going forward this season without Austin and you feel that Hasselbaink will need to spend in January, if he wants to see some attacking improvement in his side in the New Year.

2) Nahki Well’s form

Well’s has been back to his best form recently scoring 4 goals in his last 6 games. He popped up with another goal today after netting two in Huddersfield’s 3-1 victory over Preston North End on Boxing Day.

If Well’s has the right service from the players, he has the individual capability to keep the Terriers up this season as he is one of the best strikers in the Championship at the moment.

While David Wagner may be looking for more firepower in January, he could do a lot worse than the Bermuda international.

3) The wait for Hasselbaink goes on

QPR fans had some renewed hope when Hasselbaink was appointed the new Rangers from his impressive record with Burton Albion.

However, they have failed to see any end product so far from the Dutchman as the fans still wait for a first win under their new boss.

They have drawn four out of their last five games, but will need to start turning those draws into wins if they are to make a late push for the Play Off’s. They face a tricky test against promotion chasers Hull City on New Year’s day.
