Nottingham Forest slumped to a 2-0 loss at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday to make it three games without a win for Montanier’s men.
On the other hand, Wolves climbed to within one point of Forest with the victory and they sit 5 points clear of the drop zone after an assured away performance.
The game started as a cagey affair with two teams obviously lacking confidence but it sparked to life after the opener on 40 minutes.
Helder Costa, who was an injury doubt coming into this clash, handed the visitors the lead just before half time before Ivan Cavaleiro finished the game off by doubling Wolves’ lead on the counter attack towards the end of the match.
This means that both teams sit just clear of the relegation zone at Christmas but will need to improve in the second half of the season.
Here are 3 things we learned from today’s match.
