Struggling Yeovil Town managed to secure a point at Luton Town to move four points clear of the relegation zone in League Two.

Luton will look back at this match and wonder how they only came away with one point, they dominated the first half and should have gone into the break a couple of goals to the good.

Yeovil barely managed to venture from their own half and were relieved to get to the half time break on level terms.

The second half continued in the same fashion, Luton dominating possession and chances, Yeovil though thought they had pulled off a smash and grab, when 20 minutes from time, 18-year-old Liam Walsh scored his first senior goal.

Luton then poured on the pressure to find the equaliser, they finally made their superiority tell and Alan Sheehan scored from a superb volley to deny Yeovil only their sixth win of the season.

Here are THREE things we learned from last night's 1-1 draw between Luton Town and Yeovil Town.......

1) Luton showed the play-offs are within reach

Luton were a different class in last night's match and deserved all three points, and on another day they would have buried Yeovil.

They did however show with the way they played that they still can play and reach the top seven before the end of the season.

The race for promotion will be tight and Luton are not far off the play-off places, and can close the gap with a good run of results.

2) Liam Walsh

Yeovil have loaned the young starlet from Everton and he scored his first senior goal, he has not scored for his parent club yet, but last night he kept his composure and scored a fine goal.

He will be critical if Yeovil are to survive this season and with chances at a premium for Town, they need a clinical finisher who does not need many chances to put the ball in the net.

3) Yeovil have found a system to build on.

Before Christmas, Yeovil looked a certainty to drop out of League Two, yet new manager Darren Way has found a system that makes them very difficult to break down.

They played on the break and got men behind the ball, it might not be the most attractive style but when you fight for league survival, results are all that counts.

They played very open before Way took charge and he has tightened them up and they are picking up points.

Points away from home are great, now they just need to find some wins at home and they will surely survive.
