Charlton Athletic manager Guy Luzon was sacked in the aftermath of a disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Brentford yesterday - a result which saw the Addicks drop into the Sky Bet Championship relegation zone.

John Swift, on loan from Chelsea, opened the scoring in the first half, before Alan Judge, who created the first goal, doubled the lead with a sublime finish, curling the ball into the bottom corner off the post.

The game was put to bed when Judge picked out Lasse Vibe, who put the ball through the legs of the defender and wrong-footed the keeper to give Brentford a deserved 3-0 win.

Here are three things we learned from the comfortable Brentford victory:

1) Charlton need to be more clinical

Tony Watt, Frank Moussa and Johann Berg Gudmundsson all had early chances to put Charlton in front in the game but all three failed to finish when prevented with clear opportunities.

The Addicks have only scored 11 times so far this season, only two teams (Preston North End and Bolton Wanderers) have netted less. It was the third game in a row in which they have failed to score, which is something the new manager is going to have to address instantly if he is make the desired impact at the Valley.

If they had found the target, Luzon may still have been Charlton manager, and the result may have been different.

2) Alan Judge is the jewel in Brentford's crown

Judge played a pivotal role in all three of the goals in this game, collecting two outstanding assists and an equally impressive finish for the goal.

He now has six goals for the season, three in his last three games, and looks key to every attack Brentford engineer. He could be integral if the Bees are to push for a top six finish.

3) Charlton have to be more organised

There was questionable defending by the hosts for each goal, and while the second goal was arguably unstoppable, the ball could have been prevented from reaching Judge if they were more organised, and cut the pass out earlier.

The defence were all at sea for the Vibe goal as well. The three goals means that Charlton have now conceded 21 goals this season, only three teams (QPR, Rotherham United, and Bristol City) have conceded more.

Not only will the new manager have to address their lack of quality in the final third, but he will also have to sort out his side's defensive organisation.
