Blackburn Rovers and Brentford shared the points in a 1-1 draw at Ewood Park yesterday, after Tom Lawrence cancelled out Lasse Vibe's goal for the visitors.

Blackburn went into this game off the back of a 0-0 draw with Birmingham City at St Andrews in midweek, while Brentford lost 2-0 to table toppers Hull City on Tuesday night.

The Bees went ahead after 24 minutes when John Swift's pass landed to Vibe, who showed good strength to finish off his looped effort over Jason Steele.

Rovers' Lawrence fluke goal levelled it for the Lancashire side 13 minutes later, after his cross from the left hand side found his way into David Button’s bottom left corner.

Button saved Brentford from losing a point after tipping Lawrence’s strike on to the post, while Vibe and Ben Marshall both had chances to snatch the points late on.

Both sides settled for a point, but here are three things we learned from yesterday's encounter:

1) Brentford look a new team under Lee Carsley

October’s Manager of the Month has really brought some stability to the West London side.

The Bees' fine run continued, with now just one defeat in their last six games.

Brentford were poor through September after losing three on the trot and, despite their 2-0 defeat to Hull on Tuesday night, they look like last season’s side which pushed for a place in the Premier League.

2) Gary Bowyer looking to push on

Blackburn are under-performing this season and have quality in their squad to push for a play-off place. There's certainly goals in the team, and defensively they've looked reasonably solid as well.

After picking up four points in their last two games, they will look to continue their momentum to climb up the table.

3) Rovers are the drawing experts

Rovers need to turn their draws into wins if they are going to climb up the table.

They equal Preston North End and Bolton Wanderers with eight draws, which is the highest in the league.

They have only won three times this season though, but only tasted defeated once at home since August, and have lost their remaining four away from home.

Blackburn and Brentford fans.... what did you make of the game? Can Rovers climb up the table? Do Brentford have the ability to push for promotion under Carsley? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
