Reading suffered an unfortunate defeat to Leeds United on Saturday as a solitary goal from Pablo Hernandez ensured the three points for Marcelo Bielsa's side.

The Royals battled throughout the fixture, but couldn't quite create that crucial opening that would have seen them come away from Elland Road with a well-earned point.

Don't isolate George Puscas

The Romanian forward actually had quite a good game at Elland Road, but often found himself up top all alone with no support close enough to him. Yakou Meite was too wide the majority of the time, and John Swift had to play deeper to deal with Leeds' attacking threat.

If Mark Bowen decides to put someone closer to Puscas, then Reading would have carried a much bigger threat. The Royals broke through the lines on several occasions but couldn't turn promising attacks into big chances.

Michael Olise's potential through the roof

The youngster was exceptional on Saturday and in the first-half he ran the game. He was only told he was going to start minutes before kick-off as Ovie Ejaria picked up a knock in the warm-up but he wasn't afraid of getting on the ball and taking on his man.

His passing and close ball control was excellent as he shone in front of a sold-out Leeds crowd. It would have been a big moment for the 18-year-old, and one that could propel him onto bigger things in the future.

One substitution not enough

Bowen had a game plan and it worked really well for the majority of the match. The only problem he did face was late on after the side had gone 1-0 down. He couldn't quite change things up how some would have liked, and only made the one substitute.

He left a striker in Sam Baldock on the bench, despite needing a goal. It wasn't just necessarily who should have been brought on, but more the fact that some of the players looked tired heading into the final few minutes. Some subs would have given the Royals a more energetic finale.
