Reading picked up a good point away at Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night thanks to an equaliser from Sam Baldock.

The striker managed to sneak his effort past Brice Samba in the Forest goal and ensure that the Royals came away with a deserved point.

The Reds had taken the lead just three minutes earlier when Lewis Grabban tapped home from close range with just ten minutes left to play.

Mark Bowen has now guided Reading to just one defeat in their last ten games and here are THREE things we learned about the Royals from last night...

George Puscas not a lone striker

The Romanian once again failed to hit the target, and he once again failed to have a good game. He looked turgid up top and was getting rather frustrated with himself as the ball didn't seem to stick to the striker. He struggled to hold it up at all, and it meant that Reading couldn't attack how they would have liked.

In the absence of Lucas Joao, Puscas cannot be used up top on his own and Bowen either has to change the formation to two up front or drop the former Inter Milan man who once more failed to impress.

Michael Olise ready

The youngster has been on the books of Reading for quite awhile and he's one of the biggest talents for the Royals when it comes to the youth coming through the academy. He started his first game of the season on Wednesday and was utterly terrific despite being just 18-years-old.

What was most impressive about his performances was his defensive work. It was truly brilliant to see him bomb up and down the pitch to make sure that got back and helped out Chris Gunter on every occasion he could. He showed real maturity and that he was ready for the Championship.

Jordan Obita relishing midfield

The left-back has recently switched it up and gone back to his former position of left-midfield. This saw him start in the league on Wednesday having impressed in the cup game against Blackpool just over a week ago. His athleticism makes him a hard-working pro and his crossing ability is one of the best in the division.

If he keeps playing how he is and finding opportunities behind the defensive backline then Reading know they have an option of a winger in Obita. He's slowly getting faster and stronger since his long-term injury which is great signs for the club.
