Barnsley
3 things we expect to see in Charlton v Barnsley on Saturday
The last time Barnsley travelled to Charlton outside the top two divisions was 1980, a testament to the hard times both are suffering.
Neither side would consider themselves a third-tier team historically, both more suited to the rough and tumble of second-tier football. That is the aim for both this season, although Barnsley are surely in a better place to grab it than Charlton.
The Addicks are challenging for a playoff spot, but off the field discontent is surely adding pressure to the playing staff.
Meanwhile, the Tykes are enjoying a resurgence under Daniel Stendel, playing a neat pressing game that involves hard work and organisation. It’s working too, they’ve registered fine wins against Peterborough (4-0) and Luton (3-2) recently.
A win for either side underlines their promotion aspirations, a defeat dents them. Who is likely to come out on top?
FLW looks at three things we can expect from the game this weekend.
