The Championship resumes after a two-week hiatus with the fixtures coming thick and fast after the international break took centre stage.

This weekend sees the start of three games in seven days with the rough and tumble of the second-tier back on display at grounds up and down the country.

Fans have been itching to get the UEFA Nations League and friendly fixtures out of the way to get back to the cut and thrust of competitive domestic football.

The league resumes on Saturday afternoon and Leeds United travel to Lancashire to take on Blackburn Rovers.

Seven places and five points separate the two sides with Tony Mowbray’s men hoping to record back-to-back wins.

Marcelo Bielsa, meanwhile, will be looking for a response from his side after their draw last time out with the head coach wanting to get back to winning ways.

It will surely be a competitive game at Ewood Park between the two sides.

So with that said, here are three things we expect to see in Blackburn v Leeds on Saturday.

It remains to be seen if it will be an immediate return for Leeds’ top scorer or it will be a re-introduction from the substitutes bench.

Either way, it is fully expected that Kemar Roofe will play some part in the trip to Ewood Park on Saturday afternoon.

Pablo Hernandez and Gaetano Berardi are also fit and available for selection to it will also be interesting to see how their respective returns are handled.

One thing is for certain; all three are expected to be back for Marcelo Bielsa to select this weekend.

Having been the standout player for Blackburn Rovers this season, he has carried on his form from the last year’s promotion year.

It is almost a foregone conclusion that Bradley Dack will impress for Rovers in their matches, but it is fully expected that he will be on top form on Saturday coming up against one of their biggest tests of the season.

If he can produce on the pitch on Saturday, it will give Blackburn a real chance of getting something from the fixture.

When comparing Premier League and Championship possession percentages, Leeds rank third in the whole of the top two divisions.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men average 58 per cent of the ball per game, that is just behind Man City and Chelsea.

An impressive stat and one that makes you expect the Whites to once again see the majority of the ball on Saturday afternoon.
