Birmingham City will be looking to build upon their recent victory over Blackburn Rovers by securing a positive result against Luton Town tomorrow at St Andrew's.

The Blues, who handed over the reins to Pep Clotet in June following Garry Monk's departure, have made a relatively impressive start to the 2019/20 campaign.

As well producing eye-catching displays against the likes of Charlton Athletic and Brentford, Birmingham have also managed to grind out results in the Championship.

Currently 11th in the second-tier standings, the Blues will now be aiming to push on over the coming months under the guidance of Clotet.

Although Birmingham will enter Saturday's meeting with Luton as slight favourites, they cannot afford to underestimate their opponents.

Here, we take a look at three things we expect to see in Birmingham's clash with the Hatters tomorrow...

Ivan Sunjic running the show in the heart of midfield

Having missed Birmingham's victory over Blackburn due to suspension, Ivan Sunjic is expected to make his return to action on Saturday against Luton.

Since joining the Blues for an undisclosed fee in July from Dinamo Zagreb (via BBC Sport), the Croatian has taken the Championship by storm.

Providing that he is on top-form tomorrow, Sunjic could end up running the show in the heart of midfield by dictating the tempo of the clash with his outstanding ability to pick out a pass.

A low-scoring affair

When you consider that Birmingham have only managed to score 12 goals this season in the Championship, it would be somewhat of a surprise if Saturday's clash ends up being a high-scoring affair.

Whilst the likes of Lukas Jutkiewicz and Alvaro Gimenez will be determined to add to their respective goal tallies at St Andrew's, the Blues may have to rely on a moment of magic to unlock Luton's defence.

A narrow home victory for the Blues

Although there is no doubting that the Hatters will pose a considerable threat to Birmingham tomorrow, Clotet's side should have more than enough quality to secure a narrow home victory.

Given that Luton have lost on five occasions on their travels this season, they may struggle to cope with the Blues at St Andrew's.

Providing that Birmingham do secure all three points this weekend, they could use the momentum gained from this particular result to launch a push for a top-six finish in the Championship.
