Karlan Grant missed a stoppage-time penalty as West Brom drew 0-0 with Coventry City yesterday afternoon.

The Baggies, who have certainly underperformed this season, will be looking to secure promotion from the Championship next time out, with expectation levels certainly rising already.

West Brom have particularly struggled away from this season, with the Baggies without a win on the road against the top eight, whereas they are unbeaten at home against the top 10.

Here, we take a look at three things we clearly learnt about West Brom after their 0-0 draw with Coventry...

Andy Carroll continues to cause problems

Whether West Brom award Andy Carroll with a new contract remains to be seen, however, he has impressed during his time with the Midlands club.

His physicality and intelligent link-up play has been impressive since signing for the Baggies in January.

Carroll has scored three times for the Baggies this season, and whilst he does not have the best goal return, it is everything else that he brings to the team that has been positive.

Could David Button feature regularly next season?

David Button could depart when his contract expires in the summer, however, he may be awarded with a new contract at The Hawthorns.

With Sam Johnstone more than likely to depart, it is unknown if the Baggies will view Button as a potential direct replacement, or if they will search the market.

His performance yesterday against the Sky Blues suggested that he certainly has the ability to start for the Baggies next season.

Jayson Molumby could be key next season

Jayson Molumby enjoyed a strong 78 minutes of action against the Sky Blues, with the young midfielder's relentlessness and ability when in possession impressing.

He also linked up very well with Andy Carroll and was operating in a more advanced midfield position, showing lots of intelligence when measuring when to take a gamble.

Currently on loan, Molumby will join the Baggies on a permanent deal from Brighton when the season is up.
