Swansea City maintained their unbeaten start to the 2019/20 Championship campaign with an impressive 3-0 victory over Birmingham City on Sunday.

Having secured three points on their travels last Wednesday, the Jacks entered the clash at the Liberty Stadium brimming with confidence and had several chances to open the scoring in the first-half as Andre Ayew and Yan Dhanda both went close for the hosts.

Despite dominating most of the game, Swansea had to wait until the 63rd minute to finally break the deadlock.

After Borja Baston had an appeal for a penalty waved away, Kyle Naughton capitalised on an error by Birmingham by firing a superb effort past goalkeeper Lee Camp.

Bersant Celina then doubled the Jacks' advantage five minutes later before Baston sealed victory by firing home his fifth goal of the season.

As a result of this convincing performance, the Jacks moved up to second in the Championship standings.

Here, we take a look at three things we clearly learnt about Swansea after their win at the weekend.

Baston has all the credentials needed to lead a promotion push for his side

Since joining the Jacks for a reported fee of £15.5m three years ago (via Sky Sports), Baston has struggled to establish himself for the Welsh side.

After failing to fire in the Premier League for Swansea during the 2016/17 campaign, the forward was loaned out by the club in successive seasons to Spanish sides Malaga and Alaves.

Given a new lease of life by Jacks manager Steve Cooper earlier this summer, Baston has achieved a remarkable turnaround during the opening weeks of the new term.

Having already found the back of the net on five occasions for Swansea this year, there is no reason why the 27-year-old cannot spearhead a sustained push for promotion over the coming months, providing that he can maintain his consistency in-front of goal.

Celina is reaping the benefits of Cooper's management style

Having provided 16 direct goal contributions for Swansea last season, it was always going to be intriguing to see if Celina could continue this form following Graham Potter's departure from the Liberty Stadium earlier this summer.

Following a quiet start to the current campaign which saw him fail to score in the Jacks' opening three Championship fixtures, the Kosovo international has since found the back of net in back-to-back games against Queens Park Rangers and Birmingham.

Clearly thriving under the management of the forward-thinking Cooper, it would not be at all surprising if Celina continues his recent run in Swansea's upcoming clashes with Cambridge United and Leeds United.

The Liberty Stadium could prove to be a fortress this season

Having already beaten Northampton Town, Birmingham, Preston North End and Hull City at the Liberty Stadium this year, Swansea will unquestionably be aiming to turn their ground into a fortress over the coming months.

If the Jacks can better the 12 victories that they managed in-front of their own fans during the previous campaign this season, they should find themselves in a fantastic position to secure a top-six finish in May.

However, a failure to build upon their recent home wins could derail any hopes they have of sustaining a push for automatic promotion.
