Sheffield Wednesday's form in League One this season has been nothing short of incredible.

Following yesterday's clash with fellow promotion contenders Plymouth Argyle it continued, too, with the club stretching their unbeaten run to 16 matches following a 1-0 victory over the Devon-based outfit.

Callum Paterson's seventh minute strike was enough to see off the visitors at Hillsborough on Saturday afternoon, and it was particularly poignant it was he who made the difference after plenty of speculation surrounding his future in January.

The three points took the club top of the third tier on goal difference, with Plymouth now second.

With all of the above said, as always, here at FLW, we've highlighted three Owls talking points following yesterday's victory.

Worth keeping hold of Pateron

One of them, outlined above is that the club were perhaps right to keep hold of Callum Paterson last month.

Sheffield Wednesday reportedly turned multiple bids for the striker who is set to be out of contract come the summer.

Instead of cashing in, though, they kept hold and those three points resulting from his goal yesterday are a prime example of why that was the right decision for the club to make at that point in time.

No doubt between now and the end of the season that the 28-year-old could score some key goals for the club.

Moore relaxed

With Wednesday having had a second goal ruled out, after the match, Darren Moore was naturally asked about it.

He gave such a calm, thoughtful response and to me, it demonstrated just how relaxed he currently seems.

That is surely a huge indication that things are going exactly to plan at Hillsborough and bodes well for the rest of the club's season.

Having taken the lead in League One now, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the Owls go and extend their lead at the top.

Aden Flint was excellent

Last but not least, Aden Flint making his second debut for the club put in an excellent performance.

Indeed, snapping him up last month looks like yet another wise bit of January transfer business fhe club.

It was the defender's first start in months after a frustrating recent spell at Stoke and despite that, he fitted in well as part of the Wednesday backline.

With more match fitness and sharpness to come, having the 33-year-old is a great option for Darren Moore and his side.
