Queens Park Rangers moved to with two points of the play-off places after a convincing 3-0 victory against Ipswich at Loftus Road yesterday.

Steve McClaren's side have been in fine form over the past few months and they had far too much for the struggling Tractor Boys.

Goals from Pawel Wszolek, Joel Lynch and Nahki Wells sealed the points as the R's made it three wins on the bounce ahead of Saturday's game against struggling Reading.

After what was a tough start to the campaign, it's been a remarkable turnaround from the Londoners who will now feel like they have real momentum going into the second part of the season.

And, here we look at THREE things we learnt about the side after that impressive win...

That was the R's seventh win from 12 on their own patch and they have collected 22 points from those games - the fourth best record in the league.

Clearly, it's a major advantage for the side playing at home and the players are taking advantage of that.

Okay, it was only Ipswich yesterday but Paul Lambert's side have picked up in recent weeks, yet QPR won easily.

As mentioned, it puts them to within two of the top six and even though they will still be outsiders, McClaren's men have a chance of making the play-offs, which would be a remarkable achievement.

The squad depth at QPR looks as though it could be a major issue on paper and they had to do without several key men yesterday, including Angel Rangel, Geoff Cameron and Tomer Hemed.

Therefore, the victory will have really pleased the manager, who has others ready to step up when needed.
