Plymouth Argyle haven't been as impressive this season as they were last time out, sinking to the bottom of the table and experiencing a certain amount of disharmony.

The club released a statement last weekend which seemingly called a section of the support, yobs for chanting about manager Derek Adams and it seemed as though they were in complete disarray.

Fast forward seven days, they've scored seven goals, picked up six points and lifted themselves to within a point of safety. Not bad for a week's work.

In the league they've won three of the last five and whilst they may still be inconsistent and have a defeat in them, there's enough to suggest they will fight tooth and nail to avoid the dreaded drop.

Can they do it? Are they on the right track? Here's three lessons we feel have been learned about Plymouth this weekend.

One thing Plymouth have which many of their relegation candidates do not, is team spirit.

Whilst Bradford City look a broken unit, Oxford United fear playing at home and Bristol Rovers players are gesticulating to fans, Plymouth are completely together.

That team spirit was evident in the way they celebrated with Antoni Sarcevic as he capped a tough year with a goal.

They may have stumbled on a midfield trio that will serve them well in the coming months.

Antoni Sarcevic, Jamie Ness and David Fox all looked confident and comfortable in the centre of the park and played as though they were the home side.

If that heart beat can be maintained, there's no reason why the Pilgrims can't fight their way out of the bottom four.

Macey was excellent and whilst they won 4-1, Scunthorpe could have killed the game off but for the heroics of the on-loan keeper.

He showed his quality and with a safe pair of hands such as his in the sticks, there's a foundation on which to build a revival.
