Nottingham Forest have made an impressive start to the season, but they were left frustrated as they were held to a goalless draw against Gary Rowett's Stoke City at the weekend.

The Reds dominated for large parts of the game against the Potters but were denied due to the heroics of Stoke shot-stopper, Jack Butland.

The draw made it four games unbeaten for Aitor Karanka's side and they will be hoping to build on their impressive start after the international break.

The likes of Lewis Grabban, Jack Robinson and Joe Lolley have all been in excellent form this season under Karanka's management and Forest are finally starting to justify their promotion credentials.

Forest travel to face Hull City who are certainly in a relegation battle this season under Nigel Adkins, and the Reds will have a weight of expectation on their shoulders in a game they will be favourites heading into.

But what have we learnt about Forest from the weekend's stalemate?

Find out here....

Stoke certainly did their homework before the game against Forest and they nullified the threat from their key duo in Joe Lolley and Lewis Grabban.

The pair were almost anonymous in the first-half but provided more of a threat going forward in the second-half but they were denied on a number of occasions by an in-form Jack Butland.

Forest will have to stop being so reliant on the key duo if they are to have any chance of promotion this season.

Nottingham Forest have definitely improved this season, and that is evident from the league table.

The Reds have only lost twice so far this season, and they are proving to be a real threat in the promotion-chasing pack this season.

Their excellent start to the season has got many fans dreaming of promotion to the Premier League, and rightly so.

Aitor Karanka's side have now kept two clean sheets in consecutive games in the Championship, which is impressive reading after facing two tricky games.

After keeping a clean sheet against the league-leaders Sheffield United, they dominated large parts of the game against Stoke at the weekend and were rarely troubled by the visitors as they were forced to share the spoils.
