Norwich City continue to impressively surpass expectations this season, retaining their place in the top two of the Championship.

Daniel Farke's side were not given much of a chance of promotion during pre-season but have not been out of the automatic promotion places since the end of October.

They did, however, lose ground on league-leaders Leeds United on Saturday as they drew 2-2 at home to fellow promotion hopefuls Sheffield United.

Onel Hernandez gave the Canaries the lead in the first half before Billy Sharp ensured that the sides went into the break level after scoring from the penalty spot during added time.

Teemu Pukki put Farke's side back in front early in the second half, sweeping home brilliantly from a Max Aarons cross but they could not hold on.

A Billy Sharp header 11 minutes from time ensured that the spoils were shared leaving them three points behind the Whites who saw off Rotherham United 2-1 at the New York stadium.

It is undoubtedly a setback but one that they will be keen to learn from.

And here are THREE things that they will have undoubtedly gained from the draw...

Klose is badly missed

The German has been missing with injury throughout the club's last three games and, although they have not lost any, they have conceded six goals.

Godfrey has done a decent job filling in but it is clear that the club are lacking Klose's presence at the heart of the back four.

They will surely need to tighten up at the back if they are going to maintain their push for promotion.

Reinforcements needed

The Canaries are yet to make a signing this month and time is quickly running out if they are going to.

But you get the sense that Farke will need to dip into the market.

There is a distinct lack of competition in a few key areas in the squad and adding a couple more names could be the difference between automatic promotion and the play-offs.

Farke must be proactive

It took the German until the 88th minute to make a substitution on Saturday, and that lack of action may have been their downfall.

After Pukki put them back in front, it would have been wise for Farke to make things more defensive and sure up his midfield.

He didn't and the Blades' inevitable onslaught found their way through a lot quicker than they probably should have done.
