Norwich City extended their lead at the top of the Championship table with a hard-fought 2-1 win over relegation-threatened, Rotherham United at the weekend.

Kenny McLean opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time, but Semi Ajayi equalised just seven minutes into the second-half.

But Ben Godfrey netted what proved to be the winner for the Canaries though just five minutes after Ajayi's equaliser.

The result sees Daniel Farke's side move four points clear at the top of the league table, after Leeds dropped points against Sheffield United in a 1-0 defeat.

With eight games remaining of the season, Norwich fans have every reason to dream of a return to the Premier League.

The win over the Millers means that it is now six league wins in a row for the Canaries, and they seem to be hitting form at the perfect time.

But what have we learnt about Daniel Farke's side after this latest win?

Find out below....

They can grind out wins when they aren't at their best

Norwich certainly weren't at their best on Saturday afternoon and need to improve if they are to have any chance of winning promotion this season.

There's quality in this Norwich side, they just need to not be complacent heading into these types of games.

Norwich can't afford to be complacent

Many would have expected Norwich to sweep Rotherham aside with some ease.

But they were far from their best and were given a real scare when the Millers equalised in the second-half.

They can't afford to be complacent going into games against the lower-placed sides in the Championship and need to be better in the future.

There's strength in depth in this Norwich side

There hasn't been a clear standout player for the Canaries this season but that hasn't mattered as a number of players have made notable contributions to their promotion push.

Daniel Farke will know that he can rely on any player that comes into the side and they will put in a performance of the highest standard.
