Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday drew a blank at The Den on Tuesday evening, both earning a point in the goalless draw.

Both sides had chances to win it with neither taking their opportunities to snatch three vital points.

It was a pretty even content that saw Steve Bruce extend his unbeaten start to life with the Owls, as the Lions registered a second 0-0 draw at home in a row, with a defeat to Swansea sandwiched in the middle.

Millwall are five points above the drop zone and will have a game in hand on their rivals after tomorrow’s batch of games.

With that said, here are THREE things we clearly learnt about Millwall after their stalemate with Sheffield Wednesday.

Lacking cutting edge

For all the play Millwall had, they lacked a final ball, often failing to muster many clear-cut chances.

There were efforts on goal, but they were few and far between, this was for the second home game in a row having failed to do anything at all against Rotherham in their last match at The Den.

It’s concerning that they are creating little as without goals, you can’t win games – and Millwall need to do that to stay up

Same subs, same time, same results

On the 65th minute, I was thinking to myself, Harris will bring on Steve Morison for Aiden O’Brien in five minutes, and low and behold, five minutes passed, and that exact sub was made.

It’s predictable, Harris made the same changes around the same time every match and expects a different result, but gets the same each and every time – nothing.

It’s difficult for the Millwall fans to fathom, and is becoming increasingly frustrating.

Losing their way of playing

Changing from 4-5-1 and 4-4-2, Millwall are losing their identity somewhat.

The last two times Morison has come on, he has not been utilised enough, and at times the team overplay.

Whatever system it is, there has been a mix up in communication with a lack of understanding of what to do at what times.

Millwall fans are struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel after recent sub-standard performances.
