Luton Town picked up a win this weekend as they travelled to struggling Wimbledon.

The Hatters are up to fifth in the table as they hunt successive promotions, courtesy of the 2-0 victory. In a tense first half there was little between the teams, but Nathan Jones' side came out firing in the second period and put the game to bed.

Pelly Ruddock and Elliott Lee gave them the victory and even a missed Danny Hylton penalty didn't spoil the party. It means the promoted side have lost just two matches in the last 15 in all competitions as they carry momentum forward from last season's League Two promotion.

They're now just four points behind Sunderland, one clear of Coventry in seventh place.

Nathan Jones will be learning about his side all the time, but there are three clear lessons FLW felt we learned this weekend.

Danny Hylton missed a penalty with the scores at 1-0, but it wasn't the miss he may have regretted, but the method.

His 'Panenka' penalty was easily saved and could have cost his side the points.

Post-match Nathan Jones confirmed it wasn't a day for showing off in that manner and surely Hylton has learned a valuable lesson.

Whilst the Hatters have been super at home, there's been less success on their travels.

This was the first time they've gone away from home and convinced. They've shown they can do it away from Kenilworth Road and they must look to keep that up from here on in.

Glen Rea sat in front of the back four and screened the Wimbledon threat and it worked a treat.

He kept James Hanson quiet for much of the game and was a key part of the Hatters' professional performance.
