It was another tough afternoon in London for Leeds United on Saturday, as the Whites fell to a 2-1 loss at Millwall.

Leeds have a patchy record in London over recent years, with their last win at Millwall coming back in 2012.

And, the Whites faced an uphill battle from the early stages, with Gaetano Berardi dismissed after a coming together with Tom Bradshaw in the 14th minute.

Jed Wallace would convert the resulting penalty, with Bradshaw doubling the lead shortly before half-time.

Ezgjan Alioski, with his second goal in the week, hauled Leeds back into things in the second-half, but despite dominating, Marcelo Bielsa’s side couldn’t find an equaliser.

The Whites have now slipped to fifth in the table, with the league standings making frustrating reading for Leeds heading into the international break.

Here, we take a look at THREE things we learnt about Leeds at the Den…

Berardi’s discipline remains a concern

Firstly, we’ve got to say that Berardi was unlucky with his red-card; it is debatable that it was a foul and it was certainly not a sending off.

However, that is Berardi’s eighth red card in six seasons at Elland Road – an obvious concern.

11 v 11 on Saturday, it is hard to imagine Leeds would’ve lost, so Berardi’s dismissal is something that’s cost them.

That makes his discipline a concern, and however unlucky Saturday was, he’s something of a liability.

Ben White is still looking a class act

Liam Cooper is out injured and Berardi was dismissed early on at Millwall, but White kept his composure and played well in difficult circumstances.

Yes, this wasn’t his best outing for Leeds and there were mistakes, but the way he stepped up to manage a makeshift defence was exceptional.

It was hard to predict what Leeds were getting in White in the summer, but we now know that they’ve got a very good player, who leads by example.

White won’t be shouting the odds, but his performances set an example to the first of Leeds’ defence.

London form needs addressing

Leeds' record in London makes woeful reading, especially at Millwall.

Their last win at the Den came under Neil Warnock in 2012, but it isn’t just at Millwall where Leeds struggle.

They lost at Charlton seven days earlier, whilst losing at the likes of QPR, Brentford and Fulham has become regularity over recent seasons.

Of course, you can’t pinpoint Leeds’ struggle to get out of the Championship on their form in London, but picking up more points in the capital would give them a better chance of reaching their aim.
