Birmingham City are now without a win in seven home Championship games after a Lee Tomlin header salvaged a point for Cardiff at St. Andrew's on Saturday.

Pep Clotet's side started brilliantly and were rewarded for their early pressure when Jude Bellingham netted from close range. And, they continued to push for a second in what was a dominant first half display but they only had the one goal to show for it.

Cardiff improved significantly after the break and had Blues under pressure for large spells, with Tomlin nodding home from a corner to equalise.

In the end, the point leaves Birmingham nine points clear of the bottom three but they trail the top six by 12 points, so a play-off push seems a long way away.

Here we look at THREE things we learnt about Blues from the game...

The Jude Bellingham interest won't go away

In truth, we probably knew this anyway but his display against the Welsh side highlighted what a talent the 16-year-old is.

Bellingham went into the game with plenty of talk about his future after reports that Manchester United had bid £25m for him. That was not a distraction though, with the teenager taking it in his stride.

As well as his goal, the youngster kept the ball and was a constant menace to the Cardiff defence.

St. Andrew's form is a major worry

There's no getting away from the fact that seven games without a win at home is appalling from Blues.

They need to make their home ground a fortress and right now they are not doing that at all. They don't seem to be able to sustain performances for 90 minutes and there is a nervousness around the place at times.

QUIZ: Can you name these 14 ex-Birmingham City defenders?

They do have quality in the side

Despite the negatives, there was some reason for positivity as Blues showed in the first half that they can be a very good team when they move the ball quickly and get the wingers involved.

The challenge is to do that on a consistent basis but they did do well against a tough Cardiff side in periods.
