Birmingham stretched their unbeaten run to eight matches as they cruised past Rotherham to move up to 17th in the Championship table.

Lukas Jutkiewicz was on fire for Garry Monk's side as he netted a hat-trick to take his tally to six goals in the Championship so far this season.

The hat-trick was Jutkiewicz's first ever hat-trick in his senior career.

Two goals in quick succession from the striker gave Birmingham a deserved two goal lead going into half time, and that was soon 3-0 as he fired in after a neatly worked free-kick from the Blues fell to the striker who clinically completed his hat-trick.

Jon Taylor was on target for Rotherham who fell to their sixth defeat in six away league matches this season.

But what have we learnt about this Birmingham City side from this comfortable win?

Find out here....

The 29-year-old hasn't received all of the plaudits he should deservedly get this season. This is largely due to the impressive performances from his strike partner, Che Adams. But Jutkiewicz's hat-trick at the weekend takes him above Adams in the goalscoring charts and he will be confident of taking this good form into their next league game.

After a disappointing start to their 2018/2019 league campaign, Birmingham are starting to find some good form at the right time. Monk's side are unbeaten in eight league games and will be keen to stretch that unbeaten run further when they take on Stoke City after the international break.

The win over Rotherham ended a dismal run of five straight draws at St Andrews. Monk's side will be delighted to end that unwanted run, and will be confident of building on that win for future home matches. Their next home match is against relegation threatened Reading in late October.
