Fulham beat Swansea City 2-1 in the Championship on Friday night, as Scott Parker's side closed the gap on the top two.

It was a fourth-straight win in the Championship for Fulham and a fourth-straight game without a win for Steve Cooper and Swansea.

Two first-half goals from Aleksandar Mitrovic gave Fulham the win and it keeps them in 3rd - four points behind 2nd-placed West Brom who could go top with a win against Preston tonight.

Swansea meanwhile have now fallen out of the top-six with their fifth home defeat of the season - Brentford leapfrogged the Swans into 7th with their 7-0 win at home to Luton over the weekend.

There was plenty for Fulham fans to cheer about in South Wales on Friday night and a lot for Parker to be pleased about to.

Here we take a look at three things we've learned about Fulham after the win:

Prolific Mitrovic

With just four touches inside the penalty box and three shots, Aleksandar Mitrovic managed two goals against Swansea. Never has the Championship seen such a 'fox in the box' and Mitrovic now has 24 goals in 24 appearances for club and country this season.

It was a dominant Fulham performance on Friday night and two simple goals for the Serbian - heading home a rebounded shot for the first and finishing from point-blank range for the second.

He's continuing to show why he's goal-scoring 'royalty' at this level and now has 15 Championship goals for the season - two more than Hull City's Jarrod Bowen behind him.

The unbeatable Rodak

With each passing game, Marek Rodak looks to be becoming a better goalkeeper. The 22-year-old had arguably his best performance in a Fulham shirt at Swansea, making some big saves throughout the game.

He came up with a huge save a 0-0 to keep Sam Surridge out and got down low again in the first-half to stop George Byers from equalising.

The Slovakian has quickly warmed the hearts of Fulham fans since being thrown into the first-team last month, and looks set to be the Fulham number one for the foreseeable future.

4-2-3-1 more effective?

For the last two outings, Parker had adopted a 4-2-3-1 formation rather than a 4-3-3. He's taken a lot of criticism for not adapting his tactics but has proved in the last two that his team can play in different ways.

Fulham have looked better in a 4-2-3-1 as well - the wingers drop back a little deeper giving them some added defence, whilst Tom Cairney and Stefan Johansen operate much more effectively when playing a little deeper.

Expect Parker to continue with this system for the next outing against Bristol City at the weekend, in what will be a tough tie against top-six competition, with Bristol coming off the back of a five-goal haul against Huddersfield.
