Struggling MK Dons travel north to Sheffield tonight to face a Wednesday side in great form, currently sat in 6th place with 69 points.

They have a gap of five points to their nearest challengers, and three points tonight will surely mean we will be seeing them in the play-offs come the middle of May.

It's a different story for MK Dons, however. They've hit a run of bad form at the wrong time in the season; they are without a win since early March, a streak which stretches seven games.

Karl Robinson knows he is relying on a miracle to save his men from the drop in the maiden term back in the second tier, with nearest rivals Rotherham now nine points ahead with just twelve to play for.

Team news wise, the Dons will have Alex Revell, Antony Kay, Carl Baker and Daniel Powell in contention for a return to the first XI, whilst Carlos Carvalhal can welcome Gary Hooper and Aiden McGeady back into his matchday squad.

Don't underestimate the confidence that the Owls will have gained today, after news broke this morning that Carvalhal had signed a new deal at Hillsborough. Can he continue his quest to get this great club back to the Premier League with three points tonight.

Here, FLW's Ryan Evans will take a look at THREE things you should look out for in this Sky Bet Championship encounter:

1) MK Dons could go tonight

Whilst Charlton look likely to be relegated to League One tonight, the extra two points that MK Dons possess might be showing their worth as they cannot be confirmed to drop out of the second tier this evening.

If Robinson's men lose, and all four of Rotherham, Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Blackburn gain at least a point, with the later two facing off, then the Dons will be doomed and join Bolton in League One next season.

However, if they draw, and all four of the above teams do likewise, they will be nine points behind with a goal difference of much dire proportions, and will be 'as good as gone'.

Will Milton Keynes be seeing third tier football next season, and will that be confirmed tonight?

2) Forestieri to prove his worth once more?

With the likes of Andre Gray, Ross McCormack and even perhaps Alan Judge overshadowing the achievements of the Italian, it was a surprise to many that Fernando Forestieri didn't find himself on the player of the season shortlist when it was released at the weekend.

He has 15 goals and six assists from his 32 appearances this season, and many regulars at Hillsborough know that he is the single most important reason why they are in the lofty position they find themselves in.

The 26-year old has three goals and two assists in his last six games, and will want to help his team consolidate their sixth place spot even further.

3) Wednesday are formidable at home

Historically, Hillsborough has always been a tough place to go to. That fortress nature seemed to die out when they struggled in years gone by, suffering relegation to the third tier, but the stadium has been an incredibly tough place to go once more this year.

Carvalhal's side have lost just once in the league in their last 18 matches, winning eleven of them. That sort of form is something that the Portugese boss will be hoping will mean they will consign MK Dons to their fifth defeat in six games.
