Kenny Jackett's Wolves host Birmingham today

The home side will have been hoping for a play-off charge of their own this season after just missing out in the last campaign, but they find themselves languishing in mid-table, closer to the bottom three than the top six.

While Wolves have won two of their last three league games, they have also lost four of their last six and have collected just nine points from a possible thirty.

Gary Rowett's side have had a much better campaign, somewhat against the odds, and despite their inconsistent from of late, they find themselves just five points outside of the play-off places with two games in hand over sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday.

Rowett will be hoping for a reaction from his team as they look to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers last time out.

Here are THREE things to look out for in the game:

1) Birmingham to have the blues in front of goal

After seeing his side score just two goals in their last five outings, Gary Rowett will be hoping his injury-depleted front line can get firing on Sunday, but it may not pan out that way.

In league competitions, the Blues have faled to score in their last three trips to Molineux and with strikers James Vaughan and Nikolai Brock-Madsen still injured, Birmingham could go another game without finding the back of the net.

However, Clayton Donaldson is likely to lead the line and given that he has 7 goals this season, he may very well break Birmingham's record.

2) Can Wolves make it two from two?

Kenny Jackett will look back at this season as a difficult one but he will be determined to make it back-to-back wins as his side are looking to finish as high as possible given that the play-offs are extremely unlikely.

Although Jackett has a number of defensive injuries, he will be hoping to get the edge on the opposite side of the field with Joe Mason having a fine start to life at Molineux.

The former Cardiff man came off the bench to score against Middlesbrough and fans have been calling for him to start more often. That could be the key to getting consecutive wins.

3) A 2-1 scoreline?

Although Birmingham do have trouble scoring at Molineux, there is a good chance that this game will finish with both sides on the score sheet.

Wolves' last three games have all ended 2-1 - two of which in their favour - and with the stakes high in this local derby, this could be another close encounter.

Kenny Jackett's side recent run of 2-1  is a strange one, and could we have another one come the final whistle?
