The Millers have been on a tremendous run of late – winning their last three successive games that has given them a major boost to survive in the Championship.

A key impact to their recent success definitely falls to Neil Warnock’s managerial ability. Since he was appointed at the club, United have picked up 10 points out of a possible 18.

This includes victories over some of the best Championship sides including Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough.

They face a Derby side that have stuttered in form of late that has seen them slide from being a comfortable bet for the play-offs to a side that is looking over their shoulder.

The Rams have only won 3 out of their previous 10 games and were outplayed on Tuesday night against QPR – losing 2-0.

A loss for Derby could really question their ability to achieve a top six place, while a win for Rotherham could see them jump out of the bottom three for the first time since the end of January.

Football League World Writer, Ashley Williams identifies THREE things to look out for in the game..

1) Can Rotherham avoid the drop?

Since the arrival of Neil Warnock, there has been a renewed hope for the Millers fans. They are on a very good run and will fancy themselves against a stuttering Derby side.

Warnock relishes a test and this will be a big chance for the Millers to pull out of the bottom three.

He is certainly getting the best out of his players and the appointment could be the best decision that the club have made all season.

The Rotherham boss will have to make some decisions prior to the game as there will be big players missing such as Greg Halford being suspended after being sent off against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.

Frazer Richardson also pulled his hamstring and is expected to be sidelined for several weeks.

With the game being played in front of their own fans, this clash could be a defining moment in their season.

2) Rams need to show some fight

Derby’s confidence will be low at the moment, but they need to dust themselves down and start fresh as they will be up against a battling Rotherham side scrapping for points.

There will be no easy game for Derby and they are showing shaky signs that we witnessed from last season.

The club missed out on a play-off place on the final day last year and the supporters will not want to replicate that heartache.

The players have to respond today and bounce back from their defeat on Tuesday night. A win for the Rams will reignite their belief and lower anxiety levels around the club.

3) George Thorne in contention to return for the Rams

Darren Wassell will be encouraged by the potential return of his dynamic central midfielder George Thorne as he sat out the 2-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday night.

Wassell felt aggrieved in his post-match comments from the game and felt that the club lacked “fight and courage”.

Rumours of Thorne’s return will be a big boost for the club and there are certainly no doubts over his determination whenever he puts on a white shirt.

The midfielder who has been arguably Derby’s best player this season could be the thing that the Rams need at the moment, and could be the driving force to the clubs turn-around of form.

Rotherham and Derby fans…What are your predictions for the match? Can Derby turn around their form? Are the Millers a revived club under Warnock? Let us know in your thoughts and opinions below!
