Paul Williams men have only recorded one win in their last ten Championship clashes that has seen them slide further down the table, that has led them to be amongst those fighting for survival.

Forest are not mathematically safe and their form is a cause for concern coming into the final six games of the season.

They face tricky opponents tonight in Brighton and Hove Albion who have a major difference in form compared to the strugglers.

The Seagulls are unbeaten in their last 8 games in the league – winning 5 in that record.

Chris Hughton’s men will not hold back tonight as they look to avoid the tense nature of the play offs and cap off a excellent season by securing a top two place in the Championship.

Forest can open the gap from the bottom three to 12 points tonight that should be enough to see them sustain their Championship status. Meanwhile, Brighton will be looking to close the gap to just 1 point from 2nd placed Middlesbrough.

Football League World Writer, Ashley Williams identifies THREE things to look out for in the game......

1) Are Forest treading a fine line?

Forest have had a torrid few months and it doesn’t get any easier for them tonight as they face a side beaming with confidence.

They are 9 points clear of the drop, but they need to start picking up points as reputable sides can easily plunge into League One, as we saw with Leeds United a couple of years ago.

Forest will need to step up their game and face some crucial clashes in the next few weeks that includes Rotherham United and MK Dons who are also fighting for their Championship status.

They still have time to ensure safety, but if they replicate their form from their last six games, then they are in serious danger of going down.

2) Will Brighton’s confidence be too much for the strugglers?

We are seeing the best of Brighton once again, and they will push Middlesbrough to the final day to make sure they seal a place in the top two.

The Seagulls have had a magnificent season and nobody would have expected them to be in this position.

The side are bursting with confidence and they take on a Forest side tonight that are down in the dumps and I believe they will use that to their advantage.

It also gives the supporters a further boost that Brighton have only lost twice away from home this season.

I only see one result tonight and I feel that Forest will make it far too easy for the Seagulls tonight.

3) Return of Assombalonga

Forest’s star striker from last season is set to make an anticipated return to first-team action tonight and will be on the bench for the clash tonight.

Assombalonga has been re-cooperating for the past 13 months after a serious knee injury has kept him out for the majority of the season.

He has appeared for the under 21’s over the past few weeks and has shown flashes of his predatory instincts.

The striker scored 15 goals in 27 starts for the club and picked up his lengthy injury back in February 2015.

The supporters will be glad of Assombalonga’s recovery but if he comes on, he is only like to get around 10 to 15 minutes game-time.
