Forest have impressed in the past few months and pulled off a narrow victory over Championship title favourites Middlesbrough.

A second half Jamie Ward strike sealed a 1-0 victory at the Riverside, as Middlesbrough conceded their first goal at home in 921 minutes.

That victory extended their unbeaten streak to twelve games and rose up to 11th place in the Championship – eight points adrift of the play-offs.

QPR come into the game unbeaten in three, and picked up a 1-1 draw with Wolves at the weekend.

Hasselbaink has only managed one win since he arrived at Loftus Road, and will be looking for his new striker Conor Washington to fire the West London side up the league.

Both of these sides met at the City Ground in the third round of the FA Cup on the 9th January, with Forest pulling off a 1-0 victory and Jamie Ward helping Forest progress to the next round of the competition.

Football League World Writer, Ashley Williams identifies THREE things to look out for..

1) Can QPR end Forest’s run?

QPR are starting to look like a different side of late and it is only a matter of time till they pick up a creditable result.

The first half performance in the Wolves game at the weekend was the best that I’ve seen this season.

If they continue that momentum in Tuesday’s game, then they will have a real chance of ruining Forest’s exceptional run.

2) Forest on the verge of the play-offs

Victory over QPR on Tuesday night will put Forest in the running for a late play-off place, as they will be within touching distance of 6th place Sheffield Wednesday.

Dougie Freedman has really got the team organised and playing full of confidence.

Freedman’s side have looked strong at home - picking up seven points out of a possible 12.

3) Conor Washington

Washington came off the bench in the 83rd minute in the Wolves game and looked dangerous.

He will be hoping that his early signs of his Loftus Road career will be enough for Hasselbaink to start him in Tuesday night’s game.

The striker has shown his goal scoring presence at Peterborough and has all the attributes to make a proven Championship striker.
