MK Dons take on Sheffield Wednesday tonight and both clubs will be looking for all three points this evening for very different reasons.

The Dons have had a difficult start to life in the Championship, they currently reside in the relegation zone in the table and will be hoping that tonight they can make their home advantage count, having only one once in the past nine games in all competitions.

Sheffield Wednesday are in eighth place and they are hoping they can break into the play-off places with a victory at Stadium mk.

Karl Robinson's side lost in their previous home game although they played well and have been improving in recent games.

A win against the Owls, a promotion contender, will go a long way to giving the team and fans belief they can stay up this season.

Here are THREE things we believe you should look out for in tonight's match:

1) Nicky Maynard

Nicky Maynard is quality signing for the Dons and has impressed since joining the club, despite only finding the back of the net once in his 13 appearances so far.

He's scored four goals in his last four game against Wednesday and with the quality he possesses, he could be an important part for the Dons as they look to better Carlos Carvalhal's men.

Will he make it five in five? MK Dons will certainly be hoping so as a win could see them climb out of the bottom three.

2) Michael Turner

With the experienced Michael Tuner on a season-long loan deal from Norwich, the 32-year-old may be hoping to secure a permanent move to Hillsborough and he hasn't disappointed so far.

He will be looking keep a clean sheet not a common theme at Wednesday,  the no nonsense defender has been a great addition to the team and can be a danger at set pieces.

He could be the difference for Wednesday on Tuesday night whether that is with his solid defending or his aerial threat in the opposition box.

3)Wednesday's promotion credentials

With a summer overhaul of their squad as well as some impressive victories, particularly the 3-0 Capital One Cup win over Arsenal, many are predicting that Wednesday are set for a good season.

However, the Owls have draw a large number of games this season and if they are truly going to be in the mix at the end of this season, turning draws into wins will be vital.

Beating teams at the wrong end of the table has in the past been a problem for the South Yorkshire club, and if they want to prove they are indeed capable of climbing out of the division they need to take all three points tonight.
