As Sheffield United travel to Old Trafford this weekend, they will no doubt go with expectations that they can pull off an FA Cup shock.

The Blades squad still contains many of the names who have contributed so much to runs to the semi-finals of the FA Cup and League Cup in the last 2 seasons. During both those runs they defeated Premier League opposition both home and away, so boss Nigel Adkins will be hoping his players can draw on that experience.

With Louis Van Gaal essentially having only the FA Cup as his only realistic chance of winning silverware, he has promised to play his best players as he looks to progress to the Fourth Round.

This fixture was actually the first ever game in the Premier League in 1992.

Here are THREE things to look out for in the match:

1) Man United’s style

This is something which has come under scrutiny all season, with fans consistently heard shouting “Attack, Attack”, they will expect to see The Red Devils go out and hit the back of the net a few times.

It will be interesting to see if Van Gaal sees this as an opportunity to let his players off the leash so to speak, against opposition they are expected to beat comfortably.

If Man United put in a performance anywhere near their maximum, then there is no doubt they will beat The Blades.

2) Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney will be desperate to lead his team to some silverware as captain, and as a passionate English lad, will see the FA Cup as an ideal opportunity.

Rooney has struggled for both form and fitness this season, but found the net with a well taken goal against Swansea last weekend.

Rooney has scored against The Blades before, and will be looking to add to that tally and build some personal momentum for the 2nd half of the season.

3) Che Adams

The Sheffield United youngster has just completed a 3 match suspension and will be in contention to start at Old Trafford.

Adams shot to stardom last season when after signing from non league Ilkeston, he scored 2 goals against Tottenham in the semi final of the league cup.

He has continued his form in to this season, scoring 7 goals and contributing massively to the teams attacking play. If the Blades are to get a result, they will need Adams in top form.
